El 31 de octubre de 2018, a las ~ 8 de la mañana, mientras navegaba para atracar en el puerto base de Barcelona (España), el cruiseferry colisionó con una grúa pórtico montada sobre raíles (que presta servicio a buques portacontenedores).  La colisión provocó daños en el casco (proa) y causó un grave incendio en el muelle. No hubo heridos. Con la ayuda de dos remolcadores, el ferry fue remolcado fuera del lugar del accidente y atracado.

El accidente se debió a la mala navegación y al mal tiempo en el puerto de Barcelona, ya que el crucero fue empujado fuera de su rumbo por los fuertes vientos. Los bomberos tuvieron que evacuar la zona.  El incendio se extinguió a las 11 de la mañana. Se inició después de que la grúa de pórtico se estrellara y golpeara un depósito de combustible en el suelo.  El fuego afectó a varios contenedores de TEU (2 de ellos con productos químicos peligrosos), lo que obligó a las autoridades portuarias a activar el plan estándar de respuesta a emergencias.

El ferry transportaba 60 pasajeros (que embarcaron en Génova y desembarcaron en Barcelona) y tenía reservados 115 que embarcaron en Barcelona con destino a Tánger (Marruecos). Al parecer, dos pasajeros (que sufrieron un ataque de pánico) fueron atendidos por los médicos del barco.
