This is an update from the City of Oakland’s Economic & Workforce Development Department (EWDD) for businesses, nonprofits, independent contractors and our partner organizations that support them. These are just a few of the most prominent resources available.
PPP Loan Forgiveness Portal The SBA has launched a streamlined application portal in order to allow borrowers with Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loans up to $150,000 to apply for forgiveness directly through the SBA. A borrower may apply for PPP loan forgiveness once all of the funds for which the borrower is requesting forgiveness have been used. Borrowers may apply for loan forgiveness at any time up to the maturity date of the loan.
If your lending institution does not participate in the SBA portal, you must apply for loan forgiveness through your lending institution. Your lending institution can provide you with either SBA Form 3508, SBA Form 3508EZ, SBA Form 3508S, or the lending institution’s equivalent form. Your lender can provide additional guidance on how to apply and may follow up with you to request additional documentation.
Periodically, the City of Oakland’s Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) will send important updates to businesses, nonprofits, independent contractors and our partner organizations that support them. These are just the highlights of the resources available.
